WINE TASTING TOURS
Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico and the Sangiovese wines are some of the most famous Italian wines. If you are planning a trip to Florence or Tuscany, you should take the opportunity to taste them directly in the area of their origin taking one of our wine tasting tours: a unique experience, which will make you appreciate even more the world-famous wines of the Chianti and Montalcino area and reveal you the secrets of the winemaking process. Our knowledgeable guides will make the most complex wine issues interesting, easy to understand and fun.
Together with our partner we propose three different itineraries for wonderful wine tasting tours, all held in English and Italian. If you prefer to have a wine tasting tour in another language, please let us know so that we can provide you with a personal translator who will accompany you on the tour.
The wine tasting tours, starting from Florence, are conducted in comfortable mini buses. Riding along some of the most suggestive roads these day trips will make you discover the Tuscan countryside, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy. You will visit different vineyards that will give you a great flavor of the area. In some of the best wineries, you will meet personally with the farmers or winemakers, who will show you around. You will live some unforgettable moments of fun and excellent wines!
As all our programs, these tours are proposed for small groups of minimum 2 persons. Such self-formed groups can do the wine tasting tours without having to be enrolled in one of our courses. For single persons studying Italian language and culture at the Institute Galilei, we offer the opportunity of participating in a shared group tour. They can enrol for these wine tasting tours directly here at school.
MONTALCINO WINE TOUR - BRUNELLO WITH GUIDE
The Montalcino wine tour leads you into the region southern of Siena, an area where chains of hills seem to form a sea of waves, and which, a part from the beauty of nature, is famous for its prestigious Brunello wine.
Brunello di Montalcino has become one of a handful of DOCG wines hunted by wine collectors. Its depth of flavor and tongue-curling tannins give it the potential to age for decades. The DOCG law requires a minimum of four years before a wine can be released as a Brunello on the market. The lighter-styled Rosso di Montalcino is a sort of a younger, "declassified" Brunello, created so that people can drink and appreaciate Montalcino wine, which is more immediately accessible .
This wine tour is completed with an olive oil tasting and a visit of the marvellous town of Montalcino, from where you enjoy a splendid view.
